Holy Name Medical Center will be conducting monthly education classes on the fourth Wednesday of every month at the Paramus VFW.
This Wednesday’s event focuses on Diabetes, which is prevalent in Viet Nam veterans due to exposure to Agent Orange. The VA presumes service connection for type 2 diabetes if you served in Vietnam between January 9, 1962 and May 7, 1975. This is because service members who served in this area during this time period were exposed to Agent Orange, an herbicide commonly used to defoliate land in Vietnam.
Monthly Wednesday events will include health education on the following dates:
- June 29 | 11 am – 12 pm Diabetes: Risks and Education
- July 27 | 11 am – 12 pm Understanding Your Health Insurance Options
In addition to the health classes, the VFW will be providing Veteran Services Officers to help qualified veterans apply for Veteran Administration disability benefits. Contact Kevin O’Hora via K.O’Hora@NJVFW.com to schedule an appointment.
All members of the community are welcome.
